Waldorf Astoria Orlando Bonnet Creek

Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach

Best for: Beachy types of the human and canine variety.

Why stay here: One of Florida’s most powdery-perfect stretches of sand is just out the door — swing in a hammock, listen to live music at the beach bar and frolic in warm, shallow waters.

Beach-loving dogs and their people crush hard on St. Pete Beach. It’s home to many dog parks and dog-friendly stretches of powder-white sand where you can stroll with your leashed pet beside the gently lapping Gulf of Mexico.

An urban stay with your dog is easy at this pet-friendly Hilton overlooking Nichupte Lagoon in central Cancun. When you’re ready to hit Cancun’s stunning beaches, it’s just a five-minute drive to Mandala Beach Club, one of the area’s most happening spots.

The hotel’s outdoor pool is an inviting spot to relax and take a refreshing dip. Also, your pet is welcome to hang out with you on the property’s rooftop — an idyllic spot for sipping a margarita as the sun sets on another beautiful Yucatan day.

Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach has a lagoon-shaped oceanfront pool overlooking the dunes and Pacific Ocean and is just 150 steps (perhaps a few more “pawsteps” for your pooch) from the sand.

The resort is mere minutes from Legoland California Resort and about a 40-minute drive north of San Diego’s famous attractions, like the San Diego Zoo. However, you might be just as happy to spend the bulk of your time enjoying the resort’s spectacular coastal scenery with your dog by your side.
